Gas is consumable chemical material，the average gas consume is maybe 100$ per person in US, while chinese is 40$. So, there are high potential for gas usage amount in china when the industry upgrade. Gas is a good and stable business, it connect to many other industry，even though one industry will decline，but the other industry blooming will eliminate this effect.
Different gas have different product way.The most common gas, nitrogen,oxygen and argon are separated from air, hydrogen can product by methanol cracking，CO2 is purified from duty gas，CH4 is purfied from natural gas.SF6 is react from S and F2, while F2 is product from rock called yingshi.In this situation, the process consist of production, purify, filling, storage, delivery. One facility just product one or two kind of gas.It's difficult to hava complete gas supply chain.There are lots of sale company to get these resource together.
But in gas industry, air separation is most imporatant.The biggest company start their business from it. air separation generate the liquide nitrogen,liquide oxygen and liquide argon, which account for majority of gas comsume.but we won't build a air separation facility to sale liquide or gas, the investment is too high.The normal situation is building it for other company, such petrochemical, coal or metal smelt which use great amount of liquide.And sale the rest of liquid to other smaller user through liquide truck.For the smaller user, they will use package gas cylinder. There are lots of filling station for cylinder because the distance advantage. The package gas transport fee is high and one station just serve customer within 70km.
But package gas have different feature for different customer demand, we can simple classify it to industrial gas, high purify carrier gas, calibration gas, chemical gas and electrical gas.
Industrial gas consume amount is large and majority use in cutting and welding, different welding technology use different kind of gas, it have not high requirement for gas purity. High purify gas mainly use in high tech equipment for protection and purge, high demand for mositure and oxygen.Calibration gas is used for analysis equipment calibration，make sure the result is accurate.Different chemical gas have various use purpose, co2 can use for cell cultivation, mathane or c3h8 can use in stove equipment test to make sure burn sufficient. SF6 is used in many high voltage equipment for electric protection.The last one, is most complicated and rely on foreign country.The electrical gas mainly used in semi-conduct process, from keshi, CVD, fengzhuang and so on, like N2O,NH3,HCl,HBR,CF4,SF6,C4F8,F2,SiH4,PH3,BCl3, most of these is flammable and toxic gas, extremely dangerous and high quality demand.For semi-conduct production, gas quality will effect the batch product qulity, the loss will reach billion level, so process control is important, every process must have sop, training and record, any change must be permitted and consider the effect.In this area, international company have reputation and success experience, account for majority of the market.But more and more molecular can be produced in domestic, localization is important trend, but it's hard to replace foreign company, which has accumulated much engineering experience and tech advantage.
